I was born and raised in Veendam, in the north east of the Netherlands. I grew up around the garden centre of my parents and I spend a lot of time of my early years at my grandparents. I loved being around their animals, always helping them out and spending time playing being active and outside.
When I was 19th I moved out of the house to the city of Groningen. Here I studied Communications at the Hanze University of Applied Sciences. Beside studying I worked in the horeca and catering business. Just a wonderful period of my life in a vibrant city with a lot of cosy people.
In the early 2000s I went on a trip to Prague, were I was a supporter at the Prague Marathon. There I witnessed for the first time what sports does for people and how it energizes them. The overall experience of the event made me just wanna join and participate. After Prague I became more actively engaged in sports, my first 1/2 marathon became a fact on the island Terschelling and more followed after that. Running and cycling became the sports I enjoyed the most, but just being active and outdoors was what made my heart tick.
Travels
I enjoy traveling and Asia (and the food there) is my favorite continent thus far. I traveled through Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, South Africa and lots more. Sometimes for just a short period, sometimes for a couple of months.
The last 6 years I worked at Voys where I did a lot of different things. My focus shifted from costumer sales, to marketing and the last years I was accountable for the strategy and resources of the company. All things come to an end and so does my time at Voys.
Leaving Voys creates space for new things to develop and I’m curious what it will bring me (and us).
Jorg about Nadine:
In 2013 Nadine joined Voys as a Sales adviser, we became colleagues as I worked in the Technical Support. After one year i got to know her better in Spain, where we worked one week abroad with the whole company. During the weekend there we did a canoeing trip and I liked here curiosity, joyfulness, big smile and determination. If I had to describe Nadine after 6 years of knowing her, this would be the summary:
Nadine is a great enjoyer of life. She is very fond of the closeness with people and family and caring for the people around her. She has an enormous dose of curiosity and wants to learn new stuff. You make her happy with good food, good conversations and a nice glass of wine or beer.
She is a problem-solver, very strong in work organisation and able to unite others around a common goal. Striving together for a goal is what gives her satisfaction. And she won’t stop until that goal is reached, always seeing where things can be a bit better, not settling for good, because it can be great.
Nadine is attached to her independence, can be enormously headstrong and most important:
She runs on solar power.
